Somali FM discusses with UN envoy political and security issues

Mogadishu – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb. Ahmed Isse Awad, met on Wednesday in Mogadishu with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) for Somalia, and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM), H.E. Mr. James Swan, during which they discussed the political, security and humanitarian situation in the country as well as the national tasks to be implemented during the next phase.

Somalia supports the efforts of the United Nations at all levels of political, security and humanitarian in the country to push the path of the federal government to ensure the preservation of territorial integrity and independence, while providing logistical and technical support to the national army and security forces in all its formations to foster peace and stability.
