Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed welcomed Dr. Gerd Müller, German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Mr. Hubertus Heil, German Federal Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
The high-level visit follows the G20 Compact with Africa (CWA) conference held in Berlin a few weeks ago, during which Germany and Ethiopia concluded a Declaration of Intent on the Design of a Reform Partnership to Promote Private Investment and Sustainable Economic Development.
Towards this, following the bilateral discussions, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed presided over the signing of the declaration through which Germany has committed 352.5 million Euros to Ethiopia for the realization of the reform partnership and the continuation of the existing cooperation portfolio.
Prime Minister Abiy also presided over a handover ceremony in which the keys for up to 144 agriculture equipment, including spare parts, have been provided by the German Government on the request of Prime Minister Abiy and in support agriculture mechanisation in Ethiopia.
