Somali military says at least 20 Al Shabaab militants were killed in an airstrike carried out near Awdhegle town in Lower Shabelle region.
Awdhegle, an agricultural town lies some 95km southwest of the capital, Mogadishu is under control of Somali army and African Union troops.
The military says the strike was conducted by African Union troops, killing 20 militants.
There was no immediate comment from Al Shabaab over the claims.
