MOGADISHU, Somalia – United State military has carried out a drone strike targeting al Shabaab militants in Golis mountains in Somalia’s Puntland region.
Somali National News Agency (SONNA) reported the strike was conducted on 27 July which killed a senior al Shabaab commander.
But, there was no statement released by US Africom command over the bombing.
Al Shabaab, an al Qaeda linked group, which has been waging insurgency for more than ten years in Somalia.
