Egypt denounces terror bombing in Somalia

Egypt condemned on Saturday the terror blast that rocked a government building in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, leaving several people dead and wounded, including municipal officials.

Cairo expresses its deepest condolences to the victims’ families, wishing the injured a speedy recovery, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Egypt’s government and people stand by the Somali and government and its people against all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism, it said.

The statement stressed that Egypt supports efforts to reconstruct Somali state institutions as well as to restore security and stability in the country.
