Somalia, Malaysia discuss bilateral relations

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has met with Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Wan Azizah Wan Ismail on the sidelines of the OIC summit in Saudi’s city of Mecca.

Mohamed and Wan Ismail discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries through cooperation in areas of mutual benefit.

Somali president says, “It was an honor to deliberate on issues of mutual benefit to Somalia and Malaysia with you”.

He says Somalia is committed to expanding its longstanding partnership to enhance cooperation on economy, education and technical exchanges with Malaysia.

Mr. Mohamed has attended the 14th summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Saudi city of Mecca.

The OIC summit took place on May 31, which was addressed “current issues in the Muslim World.

In Mecca, Somali president also held talks with top Saudi’s officials, discussing on diplomatic relations and ways enhance their brotherly relations between Riyadh and Mogadishu.
