MOGADISHU, Somalia – A roadside bomb explosion has ripped through an African Union armored personnel carrier in south of Somalia.
The explosion targeted a vehicle carrying the African Union troops known as AMISOM between Afgoye and Wanlawayn towns, a witness said.
He says the troops were heading to Balidogle town where US troops provides training to Somali army fighting against al Shabaab.
It remains unclear how many were killed in the explosion.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosion.
But, such attacks are often carried out by al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.
The group has been fighting more than ten years in Somalia.
