MOGADISHU, Somalia— A suspected US drone strike has targeted Islamic State fighters in north of Berri region of Somalia.
The strike was carried out in Gaca area, some 75km west of Bosaso town, leaving several militants dead, a military official said.
He says several Islamic State fighters were killed in the bombing.
The raid becomes 3rd strike targeted Islamic State in Somalia.
Last month, US military says it has killed four Islamic State fighters including deputy leader of the group, who was identified as Abdi Hakim Mohamed Ibrahim
