MOGADISHU – Somalia’s National Intelligence claimed to have captured an Al-Shabab member during an operation carried out near Mogadishu.
The spay agency says its security forces arrested an Al-Shabab’s Amniyat wing operative in Elasha area, just 15km west of Mogadishu.
The suspect was taken into Mogadishu for further interrogations.
The al-Qaida linked group al-Shabab launched deadly attack in Mogadishu for the last couple months.
The group stepped up attacks in the capital as part of its struggle to topple the Western-backed government of Somalia.
