Somali president flies to Saudi Arabia

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The President of Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has on Friday flown to Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh.

Mohamed departed from Mogadishu after an official invitation from Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The two leaders will hold discussions on aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in order to further enhance relations in all fields.

Mr. Mohamed and King Salman are also expected to discuss the latest developments in the region including political, economic and security-related issues.

Saudi Arabia and Somalia share good relations with the Kingdom expressing solidarity with the Somali people during the various crises they have faced over the years.
