Somali spy officer survives bomb attack in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU— A Somali security official has survived an assassination attempt on his life on Wednesday after bomb explosion in Somali capital Mogadishu.

The explosion detonated on Maka Al Makarama, one of the busiest streets in Mogadishu, after bomb fitted into regional security officer, Abdi Dheire’s vehicle exploded.

Two other vehicles were also damaged by the explosion, a witness said.

He says no one was killed or injured in the explosion.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility of Wednesday’s bomb attack

But, such attacks are often carried out by al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.
