MOGADISHU, Somalia— At least seven people have been injured in car bomb explosion on Wednesday in Somali capital Mogadishu.

The explosion went off outside a restaurant near Wabari police station in the capital, leaving seven people wounded, a witness said.

He says rescue workers evacuated the victims into hospital.

It is unclear the target of the explosion.

The attack comes hours after bomb explosive fitted into car exploded at Maka Al Mukarama road in Mogadishu.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bomb attack.

But, such attacks are often carried out by al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.

The deadliest Islamic organization in Africa – Al Shabaab was accused of carrying truck bomb attack in 2017, which left over 500 people dead.

The group was ousted out of Mogadishu capital in 2011, but it still hold large swaths in south and central Somalia.

The al Qaeda linked group has been fighting more than ten years to topple the weak-western backed government of Somalia.
