Somalia, Russia discuss on bilateral relations

MOSCOW, Russia – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb. Ahmed Isse Awad, has held talks with his Russian counterpart Mr. Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

Amb. Awad and Sergey Lavrov discussed on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation as well as a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

Mr. Awad hailed Russia for its support for Somalia in international stances, stressing the importance of developing relations between the two countries and activating the partnership agreements at all levels.

Somali FM arrived in Moscow on Monday to take part in the fifth session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum at the level of foreign ministers, which will begin on Tuesday.
