MOGADISHU – The President of Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo has invited Federal member state leaders to Mogadishu.
Mohamed called on regional leaders to the capital for the National Security Council meeting which was scheduled to hold on 19-23 April at state house in Mogadishu.
The meeting will be discussed on urgent agenda items to build security and war on al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab and Islamic State.
The meeting will also focus on ways to strengthen relations between central government and regional state members.
Al Shabaab has been waging insurgency more than ten years in Somalia.
The group was ousted out of Mogadishu in 2011. The group also wants to impose a strict version of Islam in the Horn of Africa nation.
The al Qaeda linked group lost territory in recent years to Somali army forces and African Union forces, after joint military operations.
However, Al-Shabab, which is al-Qaida’s East Africa affiliate, has been waging insurgency for more than years in Somalia.
