MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Federal Lower House of the People of Somali Parliament has postponed a planned hearing on the rising insecurity case in the capital of Mogadishu.
The session was postponed after a dispute over the presence of independent media in the assembly, according to local media coverage.
The meeting was attended by government officials, in charge of security as some MPs reportedly wanted journalists booted out while other MPs insisted transparency as key to the session.
The parliament refused the journalists to cover the session on security issues, triggering dispute and later parliament chief announced to have postponed the hearing security case.
Mogadishu has seen a week terror attacks which killed dozens, with those attacks were claimed by Al Shabaab battling government based in Mogadishu.
The al Qaeda liked Al Shabaab carried out last week deadly suicide attack at restaurant in Mogadishu, killing at least 15 people, mostly civilians.
Thr group was ousted from Somali capital Mogadishu in 2011, after joint operation carried out by the coalition forces.
