Somali civil engineer killed in explosion in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia – A Somali youth has been killed when explosives fitted into his car exploded in the capital of Mogadishu.

Mohamed Kariye, a civil engineer was mercilessly blown up his car on Thursday night at KM 4 road in Mogadishu.

It is unclear who carried out the bomb attack.

Somali capital, Mogadishu has been hit by suicide explosions and assassinations, with some of those attacks were claimed by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.

The group has been fighting against Somali army and African Union troops for more than ten years in Somalia.

The Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab, which wants to topple the weak-western backed government of Somalia was driven out of Mogadishu in 2011, but it still hold large swaths in south and central Somalia.
