Djibouti’s President arrives in Somali capital Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia –A high level delegation led by Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh has arrived on Saturday in Somali capital Mogadishu.

Mr. Guelleh was warmly welcomed by Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed and other government officials the airport in Mogadishu.

Somali President Mohamed says he was pleasure to welcome his Djiboutian counterpart in the capital on his official state visit to Somalia.

The two Presidents held talks at state house in Mogadishu, discussing diplomatic relations.

President Mohamed said “We have deep roots, historical ties and a shared future of common progress and prosperity”.

Djibouti has troops in Somalia operating under African Union mission known as AMISOM, while continue fighting against Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.
