MOGADISHU, Somalia – The President of Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has strongly condemned deadly terror attack in New Zealand.
President Mohamed has called the attack as heinous and terror one’, which killed 49 people at two mosques in Christchurch.
“I strongly condemn the horrific Islamaphobic attack in Christchurch, New Zealand against Muslim worshippers”, he said.
Mohamed says his government stands in solidarity with the New Zealand Government and the Muslim community as they overcome the ordeal.
“We must unite to defeat the evil of terror in all its forms”, he said.
New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush says the death toll has increased to 49 in shootings at two mosques.
Bush told a news conference that a man has been charged with murder and will appear in court tomorrow. He would not say whether the same shooter was responsible for both attacks.
A man who earlier claimed responsibility said he was a 28-year-old Australian and described anti-immigrant motives in a manifesto.
