Homemade bomb detonates in Somali capital Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia – A homemade explosive has exploded prematurely at house when some of the materials caught fire and caused an explosion in Somali capital Mogadishu.

Somali police says owners of the house and a man, who rented a room, are being questioned for the explosion in Daynile vicinity, north Mogadishu.

It says the man was planning to use the explosives to attack key area in the capital of Mogadishu.

No one was killed or injured in the explosion, apart from destructions.

The bomb explosion comes a week after four people were killed and 9 others injured in suicide attack near presidential palace in Mogadishu.

The attack was claimed by Al Shabaab.

The Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab, which wants topple the weak-western backed government of Somalia was driven out of Mogadishu 2011, after joint military offensive.
