MOGADISHU, Somalia – A 22-years old girl was shot and killed by man armed with pistols in broad daylight over a quarrel in Somali capital Mogadishu.
Fardowsa Abukar Mohamed, a mother of 18 months old child was deliberately gunned down by a government soldier at Yaqshid district of the capital.
The killer is said to be a soldier whose name was released as Bulhad, according to a witness, who asked to be anonymous, because of reprisal attack on his life.
He says Mohamed is too young to die, but added she was lost her life for a brief brawl.
It is unclear what exactly their argument was.
He says the killer escaped from the crime scene.
It remains unknown where he moved to.
He says Mohamed was screaming as ‘Don’t kill me,’ then he fired bullets on her and being killed on the spot.
“What do you want from me?” she asked. Then she shouted “Don’t kill me.”
Somali police soldiers arrived at the spot and launched an operation to hunt down the culprit, but failed to send him into behind bars, according FB and Twitter users.
Mohamed is among many innocent lives shortened daily in the capital of Mogadishu.
Last year, a nine-year-old schoolgirl was shot dead in the capital, Mogadishu after government soldiers opened fire in an apparent attempt to clear the road for their vehicle, rights group said.
Deqa Dahir died and another girl was wounded when bullets hit their school bus while it was stuck in a traffic jam, Amnesty International said.
But, Somali police says four soldiers have been arrested over the incident.
Somalia has been without an effective central government since the fall of the Siad Barre regime in 1991.
The country has been hit by numerous conflicts since then, involving rival clans, militias and militant Islamists.
The government is facing its biggest threat from al-Shabab, a group linked to al-Qaeda.
It has carried out a wave of bomb and gun attacks in an attempt to overthrow the government.
