MOGADISHU, Somalia – Kenya has summoned its Ambassador to Somalia, Lucas Tumbo back to  Nairobi for urgent consultations, while ordering Somalia’s ambassador to Kenya Mohamed Ahmed Nour Tarsan to leave from the capital of Nairobi.

Kenya says the summons is a consequence of a most regretful and egregious decision by Somalia to auction of oil and gas blocks in its territory that borders Somalia.

The auction took place in London, United Kingdom on 7 February, 2019.

“This unparalleled affront and illegal grab at the resource, of Kenya will not go unanswered and is tantamount to an act of aggression against the people of Kenya and their resources”, said in a memo seen by Mareeg online.

Kenya says the outrageous and provocative auction deserves and will be met with a unanimous and resounding rejection by as Kenyans as well as aft people of goodwill who believe in the maintenance of international Law and order and the peaceful and legal resolution of disputes.
