The Parliament of Federal Republic of Somalia has debated on the amendment of the central bank and auditor general bills.

The significant session was delayed from Saturday last week following a lack of a quorum because many legislators were absent.

Today’s session comes at a time when the recruitment process of the central bank is in the final stage.

The parliament approves legislation allowing foreign nationals to serve as Somali Bank governors.

The lawmakers approved the amendment with 158 votes while 17 others rejected.
