Somali President calls for investigation over Friday’s bombing

MOGADISHU – The President of Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed A.K.A Farmaajo has called an urgent security meeting with the heads of security agencies, following triple suicide explosions in the capital Mogadishu, killing 52 people.

President Farmaajo has directed heads of security agencies to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation on Friday attacks clained by Al Shabaab.

Friday’s suicide and gun attack targeted Sahafi hotel along KM 4 road in the capital, Somali security officials said.

The security officials said four attackers entered the hotel and went to the roof, firing on people down below.

They (the officials) said the all attackers were killed.

The Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group says it carried out the suicide attack on the hotel, killing 30 people.

The group which once controlled much of Mogadishu capital wants to topple the weak western backed givernment of Somalia.
