United Nations has condemned suicide attack at local government office in Somali capital Mogadishu, killing at least six people, including two children.
UN envoy to Somalia, Micheal Keating condemned in the strongest terms Sunday’s attack claimed by Al Shabaab, calling it as ‘heinous and cowardly terrorist bombing’ in Somali capital.
The blast detonated after suicide bomber blew himself up near Howlwadag district headquarters.
The explosion also left 14 people, mostly civilian and school children injured, according to police.
“I’m very alarmed by Sunday’s attack in Mogadishu. The children should never be victims of such violence”, he said.
Keating expressed his deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to Somalia.
He wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured in the suicide attack in Somali capital.
Keating has underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice
