Somalia’s regional leaders arrive in Kismayo, amid policy rifts

Somalia’s regional state leaders have on Sunday arrived in the coastal town of Kismayo to heal rifts with federal government.

High level delegations led by the leaders were warmly welcomed at airport in Kismayo town.

The leaders will hold meeting to discuss latest political criss between Jubaland State and Federal government, according to regional officail, who asked to be anonymous.

He says the meeting is a good omen for the Somali nation.

“This meeting is one that we shall bring together the leaders of Somalia and it is intended to eliminate the existing dispute,” he said.

There has been political tension between Jubaland State leaders and Federal government of Somalia for the past months.
