Somalia: Roadside blast hits military convoy near Baidoa

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Roadside bomb blast has on Sunday targeted military vehicle near Baidoa town, some 250km southwest of Somali capital Mogadishu .

The explosion hit the military soldiers while escorting vehicle carrying regional officials from South-West State administration.

A witness says the explosion had ripped through of the vehicles, causing untold number of casualties.

Awdinle district commissioner, whose name has been identifed as Ali Bakow was among those injured in the bomb attack.

Sunday’s bomb explosion was claimed by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group through Radio Andulus.
