AU condemns mortar attack killed 5 people in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU – The African Union mission in Somalia [AMISOM] has strongly condemned mortar attack by Al Shabaab in Mogadishu, killing at least 5 people.

The rockets landed at residential area in Mogadishu on Sunday, while the country was celebrating its 58th independence day, claiming the lives of 5 people including children.

The Head of AMISOM, Ambassador Francisco Madeira, commiserated with the families who have lost their loved ones and wishes the injured quick recovery.

Madeira says AMISOM will continue working with the federal and state governments in securing Somalia for the betterment of the present and future generations
