Somalia: Two people injured in explosion near Mogadishu

MOGADISHU – At least two people have been injured in roadside bomb explosion near Somali capital Mogadishu.

The blast targeted a vehicle carrying Governor of Lower Shabelle, Mohamed Ibrahim Barre and a district official while travelling into Weido area Somali capital, a witness said.

The officials reportedly escaped with minor injuries after blast targeted their vehicle, a witness said.

A bodyguard was also injured in the bomb attack.

No group says it carried out Saturday’s explosion.

But, such attacks are often carried out by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group in Somalia.
