Somali president to attend IGAD meeting in Ethiopia

MOGADISHU – The Federal Republic President of Somalia, Mohamed Abudllahi Farmajo has flown to Ethiopia to attend IGAD’s South Sudan peace meeting in Addis Ababa.

The President’s visit affirms the country’s continued support to a regional meeting on ongoing efforts to restore peace in South Sudan, according to Villa Somalia.

Somalia will remain committed to the course of peace and stability in South Sudan as an independent arbiter within the IGAD framework.

The top IGAD leaders will be meeting at a time when the United States has piled pressure on the region asking respective governments to crack down on South Sudan elite investing ill-acquired wealth in the region.
