Somalia: Four soldiers shot dead in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Four security soldiers have been shot and killed and two others injured in ambush attack by gunmen in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

The attack happened in Wadajir area, when gunmen attacked on house inhibited by an intelligence officer, whose name has not been released, according to witness.

The officer was not at the home at the time of the attack, a witness said, adding that at least four of his guards were shot dead.

The victims were taken into Madina hospital in the capital of Mogadishu.

The killers fled from scene.

Somali based group Al Shabaab has immediately claimed the responsibility for the attack, saying it had killed 5 soldiers including a senior security officer.

The group vowed to rump up its attacks against government soldiers and officials in and out of Somali capital of Mogadishu.
