MOGADISHU, Somalia – Unidentified fighter jets have bombed late on Tuesday a hideout for the Al Qaeda-inspired Islamic militant group Al Shabaab in central Somalia.

The jets fired several missiles on a house in Jil-jiley area, some 420km north-west of Somali capital Mogadishu, where believed to be militants’ hideouts.

Hue bang of the explosions could be heard miles from the town as a result of the aerial attack on rebel-held areas, a witness, who asked to be anonymous said.

No country has yet said it carried out Saturday’s airstrike in central Somalia.

The exact figure of the casualty remains unclear.

There was immediate comment from Al Shabaab over the bombing.

U.S. drones have in the past few years conducted numerous such attacks in Somalia and killed Al Shabaab leaders, including foreign Jihadists with the group.
