MOGADISHU – High level delegates led by Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has on Monday arrived in Baladweyne town, amid nearly 120,000 people fled by floods after River burst its banks.
The president Farmaajo and his delegates were warmly welcomed by Hirshabelle State leader, Mohamed Abdi Ware and other officials at airport in the town of Baladweyne.
Baladweyne, a town, some 335km north of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu has been hit floods which affected up to 120,000 people, including elderly men, women and children.
Farmaajo’s arrival is related to assess the dire humanitarian condition caused by enormous floods in the town, according to sources.

UN said that heavy rains had forced more than 175,000 people across Somalia from their homes, after saw rivers burst their banks this month.
