MOGADISHU – Somali Defense Ministry has officially taken over United Arab Emirates-run training centre in Mogadishu, Mareeg Online reports.
Deputy Commander of Somali National Army Gen Abdullahi Ali Anod presided over the handover event in Mogadishu.
The United Arab Emirates has removed all key items from the base during past few days to take it back home.
The move comes following strained ties between Somali government and United Arab Emirates over the seizure of nearly $10 million dollars from UAE at Aden Adde international airport in Mogadishu.
