MOGADISHU — Qatari government has on Tuesday handed over 30 buses and two cranes to Somali government during a ceremony held at seaport in Mogadishu.

The 17 vehicles were delivered to local government to be used to expand public transportation in 17 districts of Mogadishu.

In joint press conference, local government officials told journalists that the 13 other buses will be taken and divided to Somalia’s regional states.

Qatar has been gradually increasing its support to Somalia. Last year, Qatar promised to launch $200 million deal to rebuild roads and government institutions following an agreement signed by Somalia and Qatar.
