MOGADISHU, Somalia – The International Court of Justice has summoned Somalia and Kenya over the maritime case which its hearing was slated to take place 4 Nov 2019.
This comes after Kenya filed a new request to have the hearing postponed again until Sept 2020, drawing strong rejection from Somalia which insisted it should take place as planned on 4 Nov, a VOA journalist Harun Macruf said.
The ICJ court is expected to make a final decision on when the hearing will take place after the impasse between Somalia and Kenya.
He said Somalia Deputy Prime Minister Khadar Gulaid and Kenya Solicitor General Kennedy Ogeto are in The Hague.
The Court could return a decision within days.
