Somali president arrives in Eritrea

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed has arrived on Monday in the Eritrea’s capital, Asmara.

Mr. Mohamed and his delegation received a red-carpet welcome from his Eritrean counterpart Isaias Afwerki.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed also arrived in Asmara after he received an official invitation.

The leaders from Somalia and Ethiopia will attend a regional tripartite hosted by Eritrean president Afwerki.

In a twitter post, Mohamed says “Our aspirations for prosperous and stable Horn of Africa region continues in Asmara”.

“We meet again to discuss propelling development in the region”, he added.
