MOGADISHU – At least two government soldiers injured on Wednesday in bomb explosion in the heart of Somali capital Mogadishu.

The blast went off at Taleh road in the capital after bomb explosives fitted into car carrying soldiers exploded, a witness said.

Mohamed Mohamud, a witness told Jamhuuriyada Online that two soldiers on board injured in the bomb blast.

He says rescue workers took the victims into hospital.

Somali police soldiers arrived at scene of the explosion and started operation, Mohamud said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Wednesday’s explosion, but such attacks are often carried out by Al Shabaab group.

The group, which once controlled much of Somalia, wants to topple the western-backed government in Mogadishu.
