Addis Ababa – Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb. Ahmed Isse Awad, attended the 47th Ordinary Session of IGAD Council of Ministers on Thursday in Addis Ababa, discussing security, politics and peace process in South Sudan.
During the session, Minister Awad held marginal meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of South Sudan, Ms. Awut Deng Acuil, and the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Kenya, Hon. Mr. Ababu Namwamba.
Many IGAD countries have a vision to fundamentally change the structure of the organization to move forward to do more for the stability and prosperity of the region.
The 13th IGAD Assembly of Heads of State and Government is expected to kick off on Friday, where President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed “Farmaajo” will deliver a speech focusing on a sound political vision.
