MOGADISHU, Somalia – A bomb explosion has exploded in Qoryoley town in Lower Shabelle region, about 91km southwest of the Somali capital, Mogadishu.

The explosion went off inside a private-owned farming company in the town, a witness, who asked to be anonymous, told AGGM Somali-service via phone.

He says several people were killed injured in the blast while the victims were waiting for organic farm seeds being provided by the firm’s workers.

It is unclear why the company was targeted.

No group says it carried out Friday’s bomb attack.

But, Somalia has suffered deadly terror attacks claimed by al Shabaab, an al Qaeda linked group battling the weak-Western backed government-based in Mogadishu.

The group was pushed out of Mogadishu capital in 2011 by Somali army troops and 22,000-strong African Union force in Somalia.

It also lost most of their strongholds, but it still controls large rural areas and remains the key threat to peace in Somalia.

The rebel group has been fighting for over ten years to overthrow the internationally- backed government in Somalia.
