Somalia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdulkadir Ahmed-Kheir Abdi , on Monday participated in the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Chinese National Day held by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Federal Republic of Somalia.
On October 1, the founding day of the People’s Republic of China, held in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, was attended by senior Somali officials, including the Speaker of the Senate, His Excellency Mr. Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, and the Director of the Department of Asia and Australia at the Foreign Ministry, Mr. Abdisalam Suleiman Abdi (Kodar).
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation underscored China’s pivotal role in Africa, noting the depth of the long-standing ties between Somalia and China.
He said that the Federal Government of Somalia is working within an ambitious plan to strengthen economic, trade and investment relations with many countries, most notably China, to launch a number of development projects in agriculture, water, energy, health, factories, roads, infrastructure and others.
