Somali president flies to attend Africa-Russia summit

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The President of Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed and his delegation have on Monday flown into Russia.

President Mohamed departed from the capital, Mogadishu after an official invitation.

Mr. Mohamed and his delegation are expected to attend the first Africa-Russia summit hosted by President Vladimir Putin in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

The Africa-Russia summit will take place in Sochi on Wednesday and Thursday.

Some 35 African leaders are also expected attend the meeting that will take place in Sochi next Wednesday and Thursday.

Moscow wants to bolster its relations with other African countries.
