Ugandan troops hit by explosion in Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia – A bomb explosion has ripped through African Union
armored personnel carrier with Ugandan army forces in south of
Somalia.

The explosion targeted the African Union troops while traveling
between Golweyn and Danow areas near Bulomarer town, some 130km to the
northwest of the capital Mogadishu.

In a statement aired by Al Shabaab mouthpiece said, the group had
initially detonated land mine explosion that destroyed one AU vehicle.

The group says there were unknown numbers of casualties.

It is unclear how many soldiers were killed or injured in the bomb attack.

AGGM was unable to reach any other officials from the force
for comment.

There was no immediate comment from African Union mission over the claims.
