DHOBLEY (AGGM)—Roadside explosion targeted an armored vehicle carrying Kenyan troops, serving under African Union mission in Somalia.

Tuesday’s explosion detonated as Kenyan military vehicles were travelling in Dhobley town near Kenyan border, leaving soldiers dead.

The military convoys were carrying supplies to other soldiers serving under African Union peacekeeping mission in Somalia.

Somali-based group Al Shabaab claimed the responsibility for Tuesday’s landmine explosion on its website, saying it killed and injured several Kenyan soldiers.

Kenyan officials did not comment on attack claimed by the armed group based in Somalia.

The Al-Shabaab has vowed to wage war against Kenya in retaliation over the incursion of Kenyan troops in Somalia in 2011.
