Jubaland leadership chairs meeting after hotel attack

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The top leader of Jubaland State, Ahmed Mohamed has presided a security meeting in Kismayo a day after hotel attack killed 33 people.

Sunday’s meeting was discussed on the security situation in the region in response to the Al Shabaab attack on Assasey hotel in Kismayo town.

Mr. Mohamed shared his solidarity with families who lost their loved ones on Friday’s suicide and gun attack hotel in Kismayo.

He also called for public awareness to be provided to the local communities, in a bid to work with security agencies to prevent further al Shabaab attack.

Al Shabaab, an al Qaeda linked group which wants to topple the weak-western backed government based in Mogadishu capital.
