MOGADISHU, Somalia – United Nations has strongly condemned a suicide bomb explosion in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, leaving nine people dead.

The UN office in Mogadishu called the attack as ‘callous’ while 25 other people were also injured after a suicide bomber blew himself up near parliament building in Mogadishu.

Somali armed group al Shabaab claimed to have carried out the explosion in the capital.

The group vowed to rump up its dreadful attacks in Mogadishu.

The al Qaeda linked al Shabaab wants to topple the weak-western backed government of Somalia.

The group was ousted out of Somali capital Mogadishu in 2011, but it still holds large swaths in the south and central Somalia.
