Al-Shabaab releases video of attacks in Somalia

MOGADISHU – Somali armed group al Shabaab has released a new video of an attack on military base in Sanguni, some 50km north of Kismayo.

The attack started with a suicide truck bomb which targeted the iterance of the base, then gunmen stormed inside and clashed with the military forces of Jubaland.

The group claimed to have killed 27 soldiers in the attack and seized military vehicle and other weapons.

But, Somali military denied Al Shabaab claims, saying it lost 3 soldiers and killed 7 other militants during the attack.

The al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group displayed bodies of soldiers lying on the ground and huge cache of weapons, according to the new video.

The group vowed to continue such attack on Somali army base and African Union troops in Somalia.
