Somalia: Violent protest started in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia—  A mob of angry rioters have started violent and destructive demonstration in Somali capital Mogadishu when a soldier shot and killed rickshaw driver and his passenger on board.

The rioters set fire tyres on the streets of Howlwadag district of Mogadishu in protest over the killing allegedly carried out by a government soldier earlier on Saturday, a witness said.

The killer (soldier) reportedly fled from the crime scene uncaught.

Somali police remains unavailable to comment on the dreadful incident.

The tragedy comes after Somali police blocked major roads in the capital of Mogadishu in fear of fresh attacks by al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab.
