MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least one policeman has been injured on Saturday when members of police clashed with heavily armed military forces in Somali capital, amid ongoing unrest in Mogadishu.

The clash flared up in the area of Bar Ayaan junction in the capital after a dispute over passage of a checkpoint, a witness said.

He says a police man was injured in the latest fighting.

The victim was taken into hospital.

The skirmish comes two days after security forces clashed in the capital of Mogadishu.

Meanwhile, angry protesters took to streets earlier on Saturday after a policeman shot dead a rickshaw driver and his passenger in Mogadishu.

The policeman reportedly escaped from scene.

It is unclear why the soldier opened fire on the civilians on board.

Another driver was shot dead by a policeman last week.

The Protests spread to main junctions in the capital of Mogadishu following the shooting death of two civilians by a policeman.

The Mayor of Mogadishu Abdirahman Osman Yarisow has strongly condemned Saturdays dreadful shooting.

He called on residents in Mogadishu to stop the violent demonstration.

However, Mayor of Mogadishu urged police to carry out an operation to hunt down the solder who killed the civilians in Somali capital Mogadishu.
