Djibouti President ribbon-cuts its embassy in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Djiboutian President Ismai’il Omar Guelleh has on Sunday officially ribbon-cut his country’s newly refurbished Embassy compound in Somali capital Mogadishu.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Federal Ministers, MPs, and other top government officials.

President Guelleh arrived in Somalia on Saturday for a two-day official visit. He met with Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed as well as country’s PM Hassan Ali Khaire.

The two presidents discussed on the relations between the two brotherly and neighboring states.

President Guelleh will also visit to Beledweyne town, some 335km north of Somali capital Mogadishu, to meet Djibouti’s troops operating under African Union mission known as AMISOM.

Somalia played a key role during the struggle of independence of the strategic tiny horn of the African nation from the French colony in the 1970s.
