MOGADISHU, Somalia – At least two people have been injured in gun shots fired by south west state forces in Baidoa town, some 250km south west of Somali capital Mogadishu.

Earlier on Tuesday, dozens of people took to the streets of Baidoa town to show their support of country’s parliament speaker, Mohamed Mursal, Asha Hussein, a witness said.

Hussein says she saw two people, who were bleeding after being opened fire by regional forces in the town, in a bid to disperse.

The victims were rushed into hospital.

“We were holding peaceful rally to support Somali parliament speaker Mohamed. We have done nothing wrong”, she said.

There was no immediate comment from police command in Baidoa town over the latest violence in the town.
